Pre-Employment Return to Work It takes more than just a computer training program to return to work. In today’s fast-paced business world, both computer and interpersonal communication skills are critical to successful, long-term employment. There are many programs today that provide basic computer skills training. Frequently, however, job seekers need more than just run-of-the-mill computer training to prepare them for today's office environment. We provide practical training to help people succeed in today’s job market. Job seekers work in "employee" teams in realistic simulations and develop solutions to real work problems. We use innovative simulation software that sets up real work simulations to teach teamwork and problem solving. Our work adjustment and training programs prepare job seekers for the workplace of tomorrow. Key components of our programs include: • A unique classroom that duplicates an authentic work environment where students interact and solve problems as work colleagues. • State-of the-art computer training on Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint and other business applications. • Complete coverage of the universal skills identified by the Department of Labor’s Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS). • Strong emphasis on "soft skills" including interpersonal communication, teamwork and problem solving that are critical in today’s business environment. • Intensive personalized instruction and small class sizes. • Community based volunteer placement, in which students experience working in a real office environment.
