Study Skills

Strong study skills are the key to good grades, even for smart students who have high skill levels in academics. Townsend’s instructors coach you in working smarter, not harder. We show students of all ages how to develop personal productivity, time management, and organization.

Many underachievers are stuck in rigid study habits that do not match their learning styles. Attending classroom lectures, doing homework, and studying for tests are dreaded activities that lead nowhere. Any curiosity for learning has worn away through frustration and failure.

We show students the way to become active learners:
• Developing a positive attitude toward learning
• Discovering learning styles and how to make them work
• Setting personal productivity goals and priorities
• Planning a weekly timetable
• Organizing "stuff" and study space
• Overcoming procrastination
• Sticking with a task
• Taking vital, memorable notes
• Mastering text books
• Making memorization fun and challenging
• Studying for all types of tests
